SEMINAR PROGRAM

A ROCK STAR ADVENTURE WITH CHEESE, CHARCUTERIE AND WINE

11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Price: $50.00
Black Sheep, 18 North Summer Street, Edgartown

Join Lisa Kaplan and Vineyard chef Judy Klumick of “Black Sheep” - the Island’s top destination for artisanal cheese and charcuterie - as they take you on a tour of cheeses from happy California goats and charcuterie from Europe. These will be paired with wines from rock star-persona wine maker (and Food and Wine 2009 Winemaker of the year) Charles Smith. Charles makes delightfully serious, but picnic worthy wines from Washington’s Columbia Valley, under the Charles Smith and K Vintners labels, including the 100 point Royal City Syrah and the every day quaffing (but still 90 point!) Kung Fu Girl Riesling.

Learn about the farms, the personalities, how to pair cheese/wine and charcuterie/wine expertly, but most importantly how to eat and drink like a rock star!

Ticket includes artisanal cheese and charcuterie wine pairings.

Ticket purchasers name will be placed on registration list at the door. Please bring your email confirmation and ID

Raising the steaks with Chef ChrisTOPHER Coombs

11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Price: $50.00
Lure Grill, Winnetu Oceanside Resort, Edgartown

Join notable Boston-based chef and co-owner of Boston Chops and Deuxave, Christopher Coombs, as he takes guests through a beef and wine focused journey that incorporates some of the more well-known cuts of meat, such as the sirloin and filet mignon along with a look at some of the “Rarely Celebrated” parts of the cow, such as the oxtail and beef tongue.

Coombs owns the award-winning steakhouse, Boston Chops, which is located in Boston’s Back Bay and was featured on the cover of the February issue of “Food & Wine” Magazine. Coombs will talk about best cooking practices, different parts of the cow, how marbling comes into play, and of course, what wines pair best with red meat. Chris will also take some time to talk about other important elements of a true steakhouse, including: a great raw bar selection, steak house side dishes, and decadent desserts. Explore practices from both sides of the house and get more than just the answer to the age-old question of ‘red wine with beef'?

The Winnetu Oceanside Resort will be providing a roundtrip shuttle service from Edgartown for this seminar. Attendees will be provided with shuttle details closer to the event date.

Ticket purchasers name will be placed on registration list at the door. Please bring your email confirmation and ID

JOSEPH CARR DINNER

featuring chef Justin Melnick

7:00pm Dinner
Price: $185.00 all inclusive
The Terrace at The Charlotte Inn, Edgartown

Embrace an old-world European approach to dining, and savor a leisurely evening of fine wine and outstanding cuisine in the elegant ambience of Edgartown’s renowned Charlotte Inn. Justin Melnick, executive chef of The Terrace at The Charlotte Inn, teams up with Joseph Carr, an award-winning sommelier-turned-wine-producer, for an exceptional dinner featuring locally sourced ingredients prepared with Italian and French accents, paired with Dylan's Ghost, featured wine from the Joseph Carr Winery.

Dylan's Ghost Winery was formed in 2010 by Napa Valley Vintner Joseph Carr and is a collaboration with Food and Wine magazine winemaker of the year Aaron Pott. Sourcing fruit from estate vineyards in the Stags Leap District as well as Oakville Napa Valley California, Dylan's Ghost two proprietary red wines have won critical acclaim. The New York Times calls Carr “a producer to watch,” praising his “wines of balance and restraint.” Melnick’s classic, nuanced cuisine wins accolades from Zagat and Forbes, among others, and he brings his best to the table for this special evening, with a reception and four-course dinner including dessert.

This is a must for anyone visiting Martha's Vineyard.
