Join us for a special farm to table tasting featuring the best of Martha’s Vineyard. The Festival’s “Fresh off the Farm” event will take place on Thursday, October 16 at the Agricultural Hall in West Tisbury. This year’s format will feature Island chefs and farmers in a dine-around environment with wine and beer pairings. Chef Chris Fischer of The Beach Plum Restaurant and Beetlebung Farm, chef Nathan Gould of Water Street at the Harbor View Hotel, chef/farmer Daniel Sauer of 7a foods, chef Bernadette Cormie of Herring Run Kitchen, chef Gina Stanley of Art Cliff Diner, and chef Jan Buhrman of Kitchen Porch Catering are just a few of the many. Taste Island raised vegetables and meat straight from local farms. Enjoy pairings from Joseph Carr Winery and beer from an Island brewery in an interactive environment. Your experience includes music from one of Martha’s Vineyard’s favorite bands, Good Night Louise!
A portion of the proceeds from the “Fresh off the Farm” event will benefit Island Grown Schools and Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society’s Farmers Program. IGS comes under the Island Grown Initiative umbrella and is the Vineyard’s farm‐to‐school program which seeks to raise a new generation of Vineyarders who are connected to local farms and farmers, empowered to make healthy eating choices, informed about the food system, and engaged in growing food for themselves and their families. Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society’s Farmers Program provides funding to Island farmers.
