The Black Dog Tavern Co.

Laura was raised on Martha's Vineyard and graduated Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School class of 2000. While a student at MVRHS she participated in the vocational arts program and began a work study with The Black Dog Tavern Co. during her sophomore year. She continued to work for the Black Dog during summer breaks while attending Johnson and Wales University.  

During her education at JWU, Laura completed her Baking and Pastry Arts internship at Grille 23 in Boston. She also spent a month studying in Belgium and France to gain a concentration in International Hospitality Operations. 

She graduated with honors and a faculty merit scholarship with an AS in Baking and Pastry Arts and a BS in Foodservice Management in 2005. 

After graduation Laura returned home to Martha's Vineyard and The Black Dog Tavern Co., this time as the Executive Pastry Chef. 

In 2017 she became the first Black Dog Brand Ambassador and was named one of Martha’s Vineyard’s 40 under 40. To this day, she continues to provide unique custom cakes and traditional Black Dog favorites.
